They will assist with the hands-on demonstration, which will solidify students' knowledge of the alternative fuels conversion process, and will offer the students an opportunity to see vehicles operat bmw Infiniti m hybird M5 specification e on fuels other than gasoline.

Atlanta Technical College http://www.atlantatech.edu/ is collaborating with 9TWO5 Motoring Alternative Fuels, through its association with the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium, to offer Alternative Fuels Training Courses. Atlanta Technical College introduced its "Green Technology" course offerings during the 2011 summer semester to high school students. "We do have an interest in expanding our transportation curriculum to include an alternative fuels component," said Louis Terrell, Jr. Transportation Department Chair. Terrell went on to state that "Atlanta Technical College has the facility to accommodate alternative fuels training; our curriculum committee would have to decide whether we should offer a course through the general curriculum or through continuing education. Either way it would be a welcome addition to our transportation curriculum."

"With more hybrids and alternative fuel vehicles coming to the market, the transportation department can see clearly the need to train technicians, it is our belief that education is the guiding factor in alternative fuels expedient integration as the United States primary fuel source." said Yvonne Gamble, CEO of 9TWO5 Motoring Alternative Fuels.

According to data from the National Automobile Dealers Association, about 4 percent of cars sold during the past three years are hybrids. That accounts for almost 1 million vehicles.

Every car manufacturer will have hybrid technology by 2012, and while the EPA requires dealership certification in alternative fuel maintenance, independent repair shops are not currently required to have a certification in alternative fuel maintenance.

With the number of alternative fuel and electric drive vehicles increasing rapidly, there is a great need for converters, repair technicians and first responders to be adequately trained on how to properly install, repair and respond to accidents involving alternative fuel vehicles.
